The first time we went to Santa Cruz, we did a whole lot of nothing.
We were so tired of all of our previous adventures including our overnight bus ride from San Diego that made us arrive in Santa Cruz at 7am, that we were very glad to be able to really relax. We stayed at a friend’s place, and we had a great time! His house was just five minutes from the beach and we got to spend time with him when he was done with work. It felt somewhat weird to go back to speaking French with someone else (we speak English/French/Italian together) and it felt good to be with a friend! To be honest we caught up with a LOT of shows on Netflix and mostly took walks around to get the vibe of the place.
So this post will be a Santa Cruz Photo Diary of the few days of our first time there. We’ll write a more developed article about our second time there because we did a lot more things! So stay put, and in the meantime enjoy the beach life and remember that I’m writing this in Belfast and we’re also drooling on the pictures, wanting to go back!

Santa Cruz is a very cool town. Did you see any banana slugs?
We went to the university the second time!
Would love to go to Santa Cruz and watch the surfers. Looks like a nice, chill time. Sometimes it’s just nice to hang out with friends!
Yes, it’s really chill and people go to watch surfers a lot. It’s in Santa Cruz spirit 🙂
We just passed by Santa Cruz and didn’t explore much. Lovely photos, would need to check it out next time we are there too.
There isn’t a TON of things to do but it’s a nice and laid-back city 🙂
Santa Cruz is a great place to relax and just chill out doing nothing – and sometimes you need these vacations after having taken a much more active one!
Santa Cruz is so nice and the house is just perfect. I live by the ocean myself so I would appreciate the view of it. Besides, there’s just more fun surfing there as well! @ knycx.journeying
