2018 Festivals Playlist (01) by Simone – Festival days are coming!

Mixtapes for our 2018 Music Festival Playlist (1)

When my wife told me:

“Hey you, write an article about festivals, Coachella is coming and you should create a playlist and write about it”

…yes, she is very bossy.
I like it and I can’t say no to her, but…

Music Festivals are my thing

I’ve been playing instruments since I was 4. Once, I had a band called after a porn star named Tabata Cash. Music is a fundamental part of my life, so here is my chance to start my own corner on this fantastic travel blog, which now you will follow for one more reason!

Blur of the crows at a music festival

I will not pretend to be some kind of musical guru, I just want to express myself on what I like. I will write about my passion, that’s all – not telling you who to listen to or not, who’s trendy or not, etc.

Like writers when they write books or singers when they write songs. They do it for themselves, for their pleasure, ’cause they love what they do.

If no one reads it, well at least my wife will!

Our Music Festival Season

We will start our festival season with the Download festival in Paris, continuing with Rock Werchter in Belgium, waiting to see if we can go to Sziget in Budapest.

I can’t wait to give you guys our full coverage of them all! We bought a great camera and a GoPro to be able to document everything at its best. Hopefully as bloggers we will try to get a closer look, so fingers crossed for that!
People cheering during a Music Festival for our Music Festival Playlist

Of course I can’t wait to lose my voice singing all the songs, even the one I completely ignore. I mean come on, how many times did you go to a concert and sang not knowing the words?! You just need to scream and fake it – just make sure that the last part of the word is similar!

It’s going to be fun. We are not in the 60s so it’s not going to be like in the summer of love back in the days, but I really hope that I can at least see my wife covered in mud once, rolling down a hill.

Sounds good! I don’t attend too many festivals but mood music is always appreciated. 🙂

I’m excited to see The Struts on your list! I’ve recently been introduced to their music and I must say, they’re turning into one of my go-to. I’m also a HUGE fan of Mumford & Sons! Love this list and I can’t wait to add it to mine!

Hi Rachelle, happy that you are adding this list to yours.
I can’t wait to see Mumford&Sons live, even if The Struts are more my kind of things!

I have always wanted to attend a music festival! I love going to concerts, but have never done a festival before! I can only imagine the energy level!

HI Melanie, well you should really try to go once!
But in case this summer you can’t, we’ll cover everything about these festivals so stay tuned!

Wow! That’s quite an effort, it will definitely make it easier for me to pick songs for the summer festivals, thank you!

Getting old – don’t recognise many of the bands. Mind you, that’s the fun of festivals, finding new music. A playlist is a good idea though.

Believe me most of the bands I added to the playlist are the results of searching new music!
I grew up with other things, but it’s good to be always updated!

Great list! Takes me back to my last festival, Glastonbury! It was a couple of years ago but still remember it like yesterday 🙂
